Water Beads Activities for Toddlers

Who doesn’t love a fun multi-purpose activity?! Water beads activities for toddlers is just that! A fun and multi-purpose activity that you can do from the comfort of your very own home!

Activity Materials

Grab a:
A spoon from the kitchen

2 different sized containers large and small (bowls or storage containers work great!)

Small toys that can be picked up using the spoon (cars, game pieces, blocks, plastic eggs, Christmas ornaments…) 

You can also use Learning Resources’ Counting Surprise Boxes for even more engagement!

Water beads 

No water beads? No problem!

You can substitute the water beads with water, rice, beans, cotton balls, kinetic sand… Anything that can be picked up using the spoon and provides a sensory input.

 

This activity targeted multiple goals:
Coordination skills: scooping and moving the beads from large to small 
Following directions
Toddler Language Skills 

Practicing speech sound productions in words
